Creating Pulse IoT template for Raspberry Pi

All of this assumes we have access to an on-prem or SaaS instance of VMware Pulse IoT Center.

Create device template

1. Log in to Pulse
2. Navigate to Inventory > Device Templates > Create
3. Enter name, device type = gateway.

4. Add some properties (the defaults are fine, I also added ‘ssid’ to capture the wi-fi network I am connected to)

5. Leave metrics at default.
6. I’ve added three commands, enable/disable SSH, and reboot

7. Leave enrollment provider as ‘token’
8. Review the template and save
9. Confirm you can see your new device template listed
